| Among the many hats that I wear, I have one that says I'm a photographer. I'm no different than any other photographer, past, present or future... I make images to make me happy, to fulfill a client's request and/or to show people how I see the world. Of course, my way of seeing the world or lighting a scene will employ comparable techniques as other photographers. So I'm constantly aiming to take steps in the directions that make my work unique. As a personal preference, I enjoy images that are true, honest and real... heavily edited, multilayer composited images definitely have their place in the world, but they are not for me... for some of my clients, yes, but not for me. Whether it be digital or film, 35mm, medium, or large format photography on new or old cameras, I'm a photographer for the purpose of being a photographer... to be as creative with light as I possibly can be. |
